01.09.2014: I have joined the Computer Vision group at TU Munich headed by Prof. Dr. Daniel Cremers. My new profile will be here.

05.04.2014: Our team NimbRo@Home has won the RoboCup@home league at the German Open in Magdeburg for the fourth time in a row. It was a great time, this will be my last RoboCup competition for some time.

20.01.2014: I have submitted my PhD thesis "Efficient Dense Registration, Segmentation, and Modeling Methods for RGB-D Environment Perception".

12.11.2013: We participated in the 2013 SpaceBot Cup organized by the German Aerospace Center (DLR). We developed a complete system with 3D rough terrain SLAM and navigation capabilities, mobile manipulation abilities, and a networking / teleoperation interface that could handle the 2 seconds network delay well. 30.06.2013: We won the 2013 RoboCup@home competition in Eindhoven with our team NimbRo@Home ! Check this link for details.

30.01.2013: Bastian Gaspers (Oehler) released his implementation of our multi-resolution plane segmentation algorithm. Find the source code on GitHub

19.11.2012: Nenad Biresev won the NRW Young Scientist Award 2012. The price has been awarded for our IROS paper about his Master Thesis that I was supervising.

15.10.2012: I released my Multi-Resolution Surfel Map implementation for RGB-D object modelling, tracking, and indoor SLAM ! Find the source code at google.

06.10.2012: Torsten Fiolka released his implementation of SURE interest point detector and descriptor for (colored) 3D point clouds and (RGB-)D images ! Find the source code at google.

24.06.2012: We won the 2012 RoboCup@home competition in Mexico-City with our team NimbRo@Home ! See this link for details.
